How To Print Planner Pages in Any Size

YAY! You just ordered some planner page printables (or are considering ordering), and you're worried they won't print correctly, or you're a bit confused about how to print planner pages in any size you need. I've got you!

Most of my printables will print just fine on your standard US Letter (8.5″ x 11″) paper, right off the top. But if you need to resize to A4, A5, A6, or any other popular size – most of which don't fit perfectly onto printer paper, I've got a step-by-step for you below that should help.

How to Print a Planner: Accessing Your Printables

The first step in this process is accessing your printables. If you purchased through Etsy, all you need to do is check your email for the download link (it comes right from Etsy) or check in your account. Download the file, and you're already halfway there!

* Something important to note is that sometimes you'll have to use a computer to download your files, due to their size. You can always forward them to your tablet or iPad later, but the initial download might have to be to a standard computer. Just putting this here in case you have trouble downloading, but it shouldn't usually be an issue.

Download your file(s)

Here you will see a list of the printables you have purchased regarding your orders. Next to each download is a purple or red button. Click on that button to initiate your download. Some of these downloads will automatically begin downloading; some may open up a google drive file.

Save to your computer

If the file begins to download automatically, then save the file to your computer. Be sure you keep it somewhere you can find it later and under a name that makes sense to you.

Saving via Google Drive

Some of my more oversized products are accessed via Google Drive to increase loading times on my website. In this case, your printable may direct you to a Drive Document, PDF, or image. Either way, you should see a download icon in the upper-righthand corner.

Click on this icon to print off your product. You can now save the file to your computer. Be sure you keep it somewhere you can find it later and under a name that makes sense to you.

How To Print Planner Pages: Understanding Page Sizes

My most common printable sizes are A6, A5, A4, and Letter. Understanding these sizes can help you print your new planner pages from home! Refer to the visual below for help!

Essentially, A5 is half A4, and A6 is half A5. Likewise, half-letter is half of the letter size.

How to Print Planner Pages: A6 PDF on Letter Paper

A large majority of you are probably trying to figure out how to print your new PDF document from home on a regular printer paper. If this is you, then follow the tutorial.

1. Open the file

First, you need to open the file you've downloaded. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to open your product, but don't worry; you can get this program for free if you do not already have it. GET ADOBE ACROBAT READER FREE

Once you have downloaded Adobe, open your product in Adobe Reader.

2. File > Print

Next, click on “FIle” in the upper left corner and go down to “Print.” This should open up printing settings.

3. Print settings

Now that you are in the settings, you will want to ensure that you have them set up completely. First, be sure that you have the correct printer selected. Then, choose what pages you want to be printed or leave it be to print them all.

Next, under “Page Sizing & Handling,” choose the “Multiple” button. Ensure the “pages per sheet” is set to 4, so you can put 4 pages per sheet. You also want to be sure that you have chosen “Horizontal” for the page order and “Portrait” for the orientation.

4. Print

Once your settings are set correctly, all you need to do is print.

You might notice that there are larger margins than you thought. This is because letter sizes are different than A-series sizes. You can either trim the page to A6 or utilize the page in quarter-letter size. If you print any larger than the purchased size, your print quality will decrease.
